PII Blur is a Chrome browser extension that lets you blur personal information — names, photos, addresses, and form fields — on any website. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.

Data we collect

None. PII Blur does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The extension has no backend server and makes no network requests of its own.

Data stored locally on your device

Your blur configurations (which elements to blur on which pages) are stored exclusively on your own device using:

• Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local) — persists your settings across browser sessions.
• localStorage — used as a cache so blurs are applied instantly on page load without visible delay.

This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any cloud service, not shared with any third party, and not accessible to any website you visit.

Permissions used

• storage — to save and load your blur configurations.
• activeTab — to read the current tab's URL so the popup can display the right page-specific settings.
• Host permission (<all_urls>) — required to inject the content script on any website you visit. The extension cannot know in advance which sites you want to configure, so the permission must be broad. No data from any website is collected or transmitted.

Third-party services

PII Blur uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
